10 Artists Katy Perry Should Sign To Her Record Label
Katy Perry just revealed that she’s preparing to launch her own record label. In celebration of her forthcoming label we’ve compiled a list of 10 artists Katy should consider adding to her roster.
1. Russell Brand
Katy should let bygones be bygones with her ex-husband. By assisting with Russell’s first comedy album the duo can start things over and patch things up with some good laughs. And, more importantly, gain a lot of press attention.
2. Miranda Lambert
Just in case Katy needs to put her foot down when collaborating with Russell, Miranda Lambert‘s the woman to help her do it. After a few visits to the shooting range the “Gunpowder and Lead” singer will no doubt show Katy a thing or two about rifles. Russell may come to think again about that record deal.
3. Harry Styles
If Katy is able to launch her label with the One Direction heartthrob’s first solo record she will be on the right track. And, with Harry’s penchant for older women their collaboration will be enjoyed by both parties.
Katy was all about M83 at this year’s Coachella festival and took to Twitter to express her love for the band.

Frontman Anthony Gonzalez wrote on Facebook after the festival offering his talents to Katy.
”I think I saw Katy Perry dancing on ‘Midnight City’ yesterday night. Katy, let me write your next album:).”
Now it’s their chance to work together.
Katy’s love for the Smiths runs deep. Morrissey’s fondness for Katy is no secret either. In 2010 he reportedly warned her not to wed Russell Brand by saying, “Oh left hand third finger, don’t do it.” A longtime friend of Russell’s, Morrissey warned the pop star against a marriage. While Katy didn’t heed his advice she can make it up to him by signing him to her label.
6. The Beach Boys
It doesn’t make sense for the “California Gurls” singer to not help out a fellow California group. Not that the Beach Boys need any help these days as their recent album made the highest chart debut of their careers. Katy can teach the boys a thing or two about today’s pop music. But wouldn’t it be nice for them to fill her in on career longevity?
7. Richard Marx
Marx has openly admitted that he loves Katy’s music and he even covered and produced an acoustic version of the heartbreaking “The One That Got Away” complete with strings. The two artists can combine their talents and make acoustic covers of each others’ music.
8. Jars of Clay
When Katy announced the news of her record label she cited the Golden Rule as inspiration behind her new career endeavor. “As people are coming to me with opportunities, I’m thinking, ‘How would I want to be treated?’” she said. No doubt making her Christian minister parents happy signing a notable Christian act like Jars of Clay could only add to their contentment in her remembering her Christian roots.
9. Austin Mahone
If Katy signs Austin Mahone, who has been dubbed the next Justin Bieber, her record label will see ongoing success.
10. 98 Degrees
Why build a new boy band when you can capitalize on an old one? With the recent reunion announcement of 98 Degrees, Katy should add a boy band to her roster. After all, they don’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon.
