5 Simple Cocktail Recipes for Summer
Step away from the margarita mix. Usually pre-made mixes are loaded with sugar, which is a big contributor to hangovers. Not a good quality for a drink to have, right? Instead, try some easy and fresh cocktails this summer that will impress everyone! As always, enjoy responsibly!
Real (Simple!) Margarita
Combine lots of ice, 1/4 cup tequila and 1 1/2 tablespoons Triple Sec and fresh lime juice in a mixing glass and shake. Salt the rim of another glass and strain in the mixture. Pop a lime wedge on that baby and you’ve got yourself a real margarita!
Simple syrup (sugar and water melted together and cooled. If you’re feeling fancy, pop in some candied ginger to make ginger syrup)
Add 1 1/2 tablespoons lime juice and 2 tablespoons syrup to 1/4 cup vodka. Technically, you’re supposed to use a copper mug but we won’t judge you if you don’t. Top with ginger beer. Throw some ginger candy in for an extra kick!
Fresh mint leaves
Muddle (crush up) mint leaves and 1 tablespoon simple syrup in a glass, add ice and 1/4 cup whiskey. Put a handful of mint leaves on top, mix it around, and you’ll have a super refreshing Southern classic!
Combine a bunch of ice, 1/4 cup gin, 1 1/2 tablespoons lemon juice and 1 tablespoon simple syrup in a mixing glass and shake. Strain into a glass of ice and top with club soda. How easy is that?
Combine 1/4 cup tequila, 1 1/2 tablespoons of fresh lime juice and 1 tablespoon grapefruit juice in a glass with a salted rim. Top with soda. This is be a perfect poolside pick-me-up!
