It’s official: all of us here on the morning show have a serious case of Olympics fever.

The games don’t begin in London until the end of July, but here in the good old USA, the Olympic trials are in full-swing.

Last night, we were glued to the TV watching the swimming trials and things got pretty heated!

There’s already a rivalry brewing between Michael Phelps and his teammate Ryan Lochte.

After coming in second to Lochte on Monday, Phelps pulled out a win in the 200-meter freestyle final.

But Lochte was only .05 seconds behind, so we should be in for a good show once they get to London!

Over on the ladies side, 17-year-old Missy Franklin proved age ain’t nothing but a number, defeating former Olympic gold medalist Natalie Coughlin in the 100m backstroke. And she didn’t just win, she set an American record at 58.85 seconds.

Breeja Larson surprised everyone when she won the 100m breast stroke. Former USC Trojan Rebecca Soni came in 2nd place, securing herself a spot on the team as well.

We’re also looking forward to the gymnastic Olympic trials. The preliminary competitions kick off tonight in San Jose and the finals will air on NBC this weekend.
