We’re only a few weeks away from the start of the summer Olympics, so naturally, tons of great human interest stories are popping up all over the place.
For example, swimmer Ricky Berens was just minding his own business and checking out his Twitter newsfeed when he got quite the surprise.
Michael Phelps’ coach posted that Phelps would be dropping the 200-meter freestyle from his Olympic program so that he could focus more on his other events.
For those of you who don’t know, only the 1st and 2nd place finishers from the Olympic trials go on to qualify for the U.S. team.
Ricky finished in 3rd place, which means with Phelps bowing out, he is headed to London!
Now, you would think an official from the team would be the one to give him the news, but no, it all went down on Twitter!
Words can't describe how I am feeling right now. If Twitter is right, I am swimming the 200 free at the Olympics!!!!! This is nuts!!!—

How awesome is that? Good luck to Ricky and the rest of the U.S. Olympic team!
