With the tragedy in Colorado this morning, it seems impossible to think or talk about anything else, but as they say, the show must go on.
That being said, it seems appropriate that today’s featured truck is owned and operated a fire captain, one of the many people who put their life on the line to keep us safe day in and day out.
The boys of Firehouse Chefs crowded into the studio earlier today to give us all a taste what they cook up during those long shifts.
Owner Eddie, along with chef Joe, explained to Carson how they got into the food truck fad:
In addition to his truck duties, Eddie is a fire captain in Long Beach. Eddie got his start as a Navy chef, cooking for an admiral and various VIPs.
Joe does a lot of the cooking on the truck, but he’s also a firefighter in San Diego.
The Firehouse Chefs truck launched in March of this year, but the company has been in the catering business since 2008.
The entrees are inspired by the food they’ve cooked up while working as firefighters.
In fact, several members of the food truck crew pull double duty, working as firefighters all over Southern California.
The menu mainly consists of a wide array of sandwiches, salads, and comfort finger foods, all flavored with their signature sauces and spices, which you can buy online.
Congratulations to Crystal from Long Beach! She and her office mates are eating for free today!
