Everybody knows who Lolo Jones is…she’s a great athlete who has represented our country at the Olympics in her specialty event, the 100-meter hurdles.
She ran track at LSU, winning many national titles and 11 All-American honors.
In the 2008 Beijing Olympics, she was on her way to winning the gold, but she clipped the second-to-last hurdle. That led to a stumble, leaving her with a seventh place finish.
It was heartbreaking for her, but she kept her composure on the track only to have the cameras catch her breakdown underneath the stadium bleachers.
She battled back from injuries this year, which included spinal cord surgery, to make the Olympic team and represent the U.S. again this year in London.
She gave a heartbreaking interview on the Today show this morning after finishing 4th in the 100-meter hurdles to end her Olympics.
It’s a tough interview to watch because Lolo is a great person and an unreal athlete!
The media has been tough on her, but she should remember that critics are people who sit around and formulate opinions about what other people do with their lives all while sitting on a couch.
Lolo Jones is a great athlete and an even better role model for young people everywhere…congrats on your great feat in London. Fourth in the world is nothing to look down upon!Vodpod videos no longer available.
