Nicki Minaj is reportedly in talks to become the next judge on American Idol. While there is no official word, the Internet machine has gone into overdrive trying to compute what a Minaj judgeship would mean for fans and contestants alike.
While she enjoyed her usual support from her Barbz, there was the usual snark and over-the-top reactions that kept the conversation going. ESPN’s controversial analyst, Skip Bayliss, scored a shot with this tweet on the matter:

Not to be outdone in snark, parody account operators such as Drunk Hulk smashed his way into the topic.

The frenzy began with a report from Us Weekly, in which the magazine cited a source: “I’m not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it,” the source reportedly told Us Weekly. “A few more slight things to sign off on but it is happening.”
Minaj made an appearance on the show in March of 2011, in which she sand her hit song, “Starships.” Durring the post performance interview with Ryan Seacrest, Minaj raised a few eyebrows.
“I was hoping maybe I could come back and become a guest judge,” she said. “J. Lo, can you scoot over so I can get up in there?”
Jennifer Lopez wagged her finger and responded with a laugh: “I don’t think there’s enough room up here for both of us.”
