Senior citizens are some of the coolest people around!
They’ve been at it obviously longer then the younger generations with their boots on the ground battling through things we’re faced with every day.
One thing I enjoy in life is meeting random people of any age, whether it’s at work, in the water surfing, or at a local pub.
You never know what piece of advice you’ll get if you’re listening.
It’s one reason I like to roll solo a lot. I get to meet random people in life when I do, and I encourage everyone to do it. You’ll be forced to talk to strangers and in return, maybe learn a thing or two.
Last week, I met an 11-year-old kid named Tanner at the beach who was talking to me about surfing and basketball. Tanner was asking me how my snaps off the top of the wave were coming. I said, “Not good. I’m still working on them buddy.”
He then said, “How old are you?” I answered…he paused and said, “Don’t worry you’ll get it. You’ve still got time.”
I laughed at his answer and his ability to communicate at such a young age.
