Taylor Swift is known for being America’s sweetheart, but this week, she’s on the receiving end of some negative press for supposedly crashing a Kennedy wedding.
The country singer is currently dating Conor Kennedy, grandson of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy.
Apparently Conor was invited his cousin Kyle Kennedy’s nuptials, but he never RSVP’d.
The mother of the bride, Victoria Gifford Kennedy, told the Boston Herald that the couple texted her an hour before the wedding asking if they could attend and she told them no, but apparently that didn’t stop them from showing up.
“I personally went up to Ms. Swift, whose entrance distracted the entire event, politely introduced myself to her and asked her as nicely as I could to leave,” Victoria explained. “It was like talking to a ghost. She seemed to look right past me.”
A rep for Taylor, however, completely denies that claim. “Taylor was invited to the wedding and the bride thanked her profusely for being there,” said Paula Erickson.
