Don’t get us wrong…we love us some trashy TV. It helps us unwind after a long day of playing all the hits.

But sometimes, do you think reality shows go too far?

Carson took some time out this morning to discuss The Hollywood Reporter’s scathing review of the TLC show Here Comes Honey Boo Boo.

For those of you who aren’t familiar with all the details, 6-year-old Alana Thompson, who goes by the nickname Honey Boo Boo Child, got her own spin-off after displaying some crazy antics on Toddlers & Tiaras.

This includes her saying things like “A dollar make me wanna holler” and drinking her go-go juice, which is a mixture of Red Bull and Mountain Dew.

It all seems like it’s in good fun, but The Hollywood Reporter article brings up an excellent point. Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is just an excuse for us to laugh at rednecks and fat people, which at the core, is a pretty horrible way to treat people.

“What does it say about us, who find entertainment in this, and what does it say about TLC?” Carson asked aloud today.

Nevertheless, ratings for the show are through the roof. The most recent episode pulled in 2.3 million viewers, which is huge for a cable network like TLC.

“I’ve thought this way about a lot of the…Jersey Shore, the Kardashians, but people love it,” Carson said. “People watch it. There’s nowhere to argue because everybody seems to enjoy it.”

“Someone’s got to draw a line somewhere and it started I think with Tim Goodman at The Hollywood Reporter and it’s got to move from here,” Carson added. “Where does it stop?”
