Last night, all eyes were supposed to be on Mitt Romney as he accepted the Republican party’s nomination for president, however, actor Clint Eastwood is the one making most of the headlines today.

The 82-year-old spent much of his speech talking to an empty chair…yes, A CHAIR. Apparently it was supposed to represent an an invisible President Obama.

Reaction to his remarks were mixed. If you’re a Republican, you probably thought it was hilarious and if you’re a Democrat, well, it may have seemed like a trip to crazy town!

Eastwood’s appearance was a last-minute surprise and quite a departure from the normally buttoned-up pomp and circumstance. Although his bit was light-hearted, he made some pretty serious attacks against the president saying, “when someone does not do the job, we have to let him go.”

As for President Obama, he responded to last night’s festivities with a feisty Twitpic…
