It’s a crazy exciting weekend here in Los Angeles! The Emmy Awards will be broadcast live from Nokia Theatre on Sunday and today, we all got to watch the majestic Endeavour flyby over the Southland.

Seems like many of you were in the mood to tailgate in honor of this historic day and we had the perfect food truck swing by for a pre-space shuttle snack…Deano’s Deli!

Erin and Amy swung by the AMP Radio studio to tell Carson about how they got involved in the LA food truck scene.

Erin grew up in Pennsylvania, which means her childhood was filled with delicious hoagies. Once she moved out to Los Angeles, she discovered that the sandwiches out here just didn’t do the trick.

In August of 2011, she decided to start her own truck devoted to the East Coast staple. She named the truck after her dad, who sadly passed away, but was always her biggest supporter.

Erin teamed up with her friend Amy, who grew up in Baltimore and shared her same nostalgia for hoagies and business has been booming ever since!

For Deano’s Deli, it’s all about authenticity. They ship in all their deli meats and cheese from the East Coast and their hoagie rolls are made in the famous Amoroso’s bakery in Philadelphia.

Deano’s Deli serves up made-to-order sandwiches along with the ones listed on the menu. There’s so many options, including turkey, roast beef, meatballs, prosciutto, and even veggie, so there’s something for everyone.

Food Truck Friday wouldn’t be nearly as fun if we couldn’t hook up our loyal listeners, so Carson sent Deano’s Deli to the office of one very lucky caller.

Congratulations to today’s winner! They scored a free lunch not only for themselves, but also their entire office!
