Much like bad Hollywood movies, “Carmageddon II” is back for an unwanted sequel. The 405fwy from the 10 to 101fwy is shutting down this weekend.
We’ve already gone through this a year ago. Everybody stayed inside, and Southern California had one of the lightest traffic days in history. This weekend, don’t be that, “if everyone else is off the freeway, I’ll take the freeway” guy. If we all think that way, we will be so screwed. Have a little stay-cation this weekend. Rent some movies, cook at home, (dare we even say it?) spend time with your family.
If you really are developing cabin fever, and need to get out, Metro LA has some local events you can check out WITHOUT USING THE FREEWAY! They have partnered with hundreds of restaurants, tourists attractions and other venues to offer discounts to people who can show they used mass transit to get there. Here are some of our favorites.
This Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, head of to Hollywood and Highland for the Feast of San Gennaro. Eat the best Italian food, and get in some Italian culture. Hosted by Emmy host, and new king of late night, Jimmy Kimmel, this is sure to make for a fun weekend.
Vintage Clothing & Textile Show
Sunday from 9am-3pm, head out to Agoura Hills to the Vintage Clothing & Textile Show. Over 65 vendors will be on hand selling great vintage clothes, jewelry, shoes and more!
What better way to avoid traffic, than to run through it? Sign-up now, for the Herbalife Triathlon. It starts early Sunday morning in Venice, and ends up at L.A. Live in Downtown. Now that’s a run!
You aren’t going to have too many more weekends to soak up the sun at the beach. Stop by the historic Annenbeg Beach House. You can do some yoga, rent a paddle board and ever see a show.
Like we said, it’s going to be hard not having the freedom to drive where you want this weekend, but don’t let that stop you. Take the time to explore new places in LA you might not of known of.
