We’ve done a few proposals for the Viral Video of the Day before, but this one takes on new heights.

In this video, a guy named Ryan Thompson, who is a pilot, takes his girlfriend Carlie for a private flight around Vancouver.

Let me just say, Carlie is hot and I too would like to take her on a private flight around Vancouver, but unfortunately for me, she’s engaged now and I also can’t fly a plane.

I couldn’t help but wonder if I had followed my dreams of becoming a fighter pilot after watching Top Gun when I was a kid.

Then after Maverick and I graduated from Top Gun school in San Diego, I would be stationed in Vancouver were instead of Ryan, I would’ve met Carlie at the nursing home where she helped out her father before leaving for her fellowship to study in England.

Although before leaving, I’d give her my heart and she’d give me a pen in return. I’d then, however, turn to my boombox and stand outside her window as I held it above my head playing “In Your Eyes” by Peter Gabriel in hopes of winning her back. Wait…that last part was Diane Court in “Say Anything.”

Back to the story, little did Carlie know they were going to experience some mid-flight control failure in which she would have to help him out by reading the emergency checklist.

Ryan had to make it believable so he added in a few bumps in the sky and as you can tell by his Carlie’s face, she’s thinking this plane might be going down.

Before they land you can also see in her face that she’s saying, “Please, just put this thing on the ground so I can be happy.”

Well done Ryan, one of the better proposals I’ve seen!
