If you’ve ever been a bridesmaid, then you know the gig entails throwing the bride an awesome bachelorette party, constantly telling her she’s beautiful, and wearing whatever she tells you to, no matter how ugly it may be.
But sometimes, the woman walking down the aisle takes things too far.
Case in point: Producer Angie came upon an email that went viral and after skimming through a few paragraphs, you’ll understand why!
The bride writes to her prospective wedding party…
You all have a big roll [sic] in this wedding, so before we continue I’m going to be setting some ground rules and its very important you read and think about everything through before you accept this honor to be a bridesmaid.
…We want every single one of our bridesmaid and grooms at our parties, I have 10 not 8 where two couldn’t make it so if you already know you cant make one of the parties then we have to find someone else.
…I would like everyone to send me any dates they are going away or planning to go away after February so if your going away in January I don’t care. I want any dates from February to the day of our wedding in August, that way we know not to plan something when your [sic] away. But after this week the dates are set in stone. Also if money is tight and you cant afford to contribute to say the bachelorette party or wont be able to afford a dress etc then L— and Myself don’t have time to deal with that, I’m sorry. This includes flights as well.
…Also if you accept this honor another thing is that you need to be available, I’m not going to harass you with wedding stuff every hour of everyday but if its [sic] something important and it takes you a week even 2-3 days to get back to me seeeee ya! I don’t have time to wait around for responses, everyone has their phone on them, it shouldn’t take you more than a day to get back to me, even if your [sic] out of the country, check your email!
And those are just the cliff notes! You can read the whole email here.
Anyway, this crazy email reminded Producer Angie of a few weddings that she’s taken part in, like the one where the bride told her she couldn’t get her make up professionally done because the bride wanted to be the prettiest. She was also told she could only wear kitten heels so that no one would tower over the bride!
Carson wanted to know if you all out there had any run-ins with a crazy bridezilla and one of our loyal listeners called in with an unbelievable story.
“One of my coworkers, she found out that her maid of honor got a tattoo. She started a sleeve on her arm and she was furious about it!” Amanda from Ontario explained to Carson. “So, she wrote an email to all the rest of her bridesmaids and she told them that if they are going to get tattoos that they need to clear it with her first…She asked them to please hold off on the tattoos and if they can wait that she would consider paying for the tattoos after her wedding.”
