Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb are famous for having good times with their wine on the fourth hour of Today, but things took an unfortunate turn on Thursday during a segment about puppy adoptions.

When Kathie Lee was holding one of the dogs, it decided to leap out of her arms and ended up face-planting into its playpen…ouch!

The video immediately went viral and Gifford called into Today this morning to address the embarrassing moment.

“The puppy is OK, but I’m wreck,” she told Matt Lauer. She also joked that the real reason the puppy escaped so suddenly was because he did not want to go home with Hoda.
