Bruno Mars is keeping the vintage feel alive in the music video for his new single “Lock Out Of Heaven”. Wanting to keep things simple, the music video is him singing the track with a live audience and footage of Bruno hanging out at a back yard party with some friends. Some retro lightning effects and grain to make it look like you’re watching an old VHS tape.
In an interview with MTV News, he explained how he wanted a fun concept. “No story line, it’s not me singing to a girl, you get a good sense of what you’re going to get live…It’s very VHS-y. I love that man, it takes me back to my childhood, when the tracking is off and the color is off, there’s a beauty in that. You’d have to stand by the TV with, like, aluminum foil all over you.”
