What were you doing Sunday around 9am? Carson spent his morning glued to his computer screen to watch Felix Baumgartner sky dive from 23 miles above Earth for the Red Bull Stratos Project!
After Tuesday’s jump was scrapped for poor weather conditions, Baumgartner was finally able to complete his mission after years of training.
More than 8 million tuned in to watch “Fearless Felix” break the record for the highest manned balloon flight.
Baumgartner also became the first person to break the sound barrier without the aid of a shuttle or jet. He reached speeds of 833.9 miles per hour during his free fall. How cool is that?
"I could feel myself break the speed of sound. I could feel the air building up and then I hit it." Felix Baumgartner—

There were a few tense moments when mission control was concerned with overheating inside Baumgartner’s helmet and when Baumgarnter seemed to be getting nervous waiting for his capsule to depressurize, but in the end, the jump was executed flawlessly. No seriously…he made a perfect landing on his feet!
