October is a month of scary costumes, and haunted houses. It’s also National Breast Cancer Awareness Month. As you might know, we here at AMP take our boobies and our Halloween partying serious. We have Pink For October, and our Halloween Masquerade. So when we heard the Pink Pumpkin Patch Foundation was growing pink pumpkins, we were excited.
The Pink Pumpkin Patch Foundation is commissioning farmers all over the country to grow these light pink pumpkins, and donate 25 cents from each sale to organizations involved in breast cancer research. Bert Bouwman is planning on growing 30,000 pink pumpkins. In an interview with Kaaltv.com, he said, “In the spring when I ordered the seed it was a leap of faith, hoping I can raise that many and sell that many, so we’ll see.” Over 50 farmers nationwide have signed on to help out.
The foundation’s goal is to have a pink pumpkin on everyone’s porch for Halloween.
