These days, we wonder if anyone is busier than Mr. Adam Levine.
When he’s not making hit records with Maroon 5, he fills his time by coaching on The Voice and delving into the acting world with his new gig on American Horror Story.
But somehow, he carved some time out of his jam-packed schedule to sit down with his buddy Carson Daly.
Levine came to the AMP Radio studio on Monday to make the big announcement that Maroon 5 will be embarking upon a massive North American tour beginning this February.
“We’re going on tour in the States and it’s going to be the biggest, baddest one ever,” Levine told Carson Daly earlier this morning. “We’re going everywhere. If you live in a major city in this country, we will be there. Can’t mention all of them right now, but you know who you are.”
He was excited to point out that he’ll be stopping here in Los Angeles on March 15 to perform at STAPLES Center, a venue he’s spotted at all the time because he’s a huge Lakers fan. Carson has spent a fair amount of time at Adam’s house and he asked him about a particular piece of Lakers memorabilia hanging in his bathroom.
“That was a gift from Jonah [Hill], who’s a very, very old friend of mine, like a little brother to me…He blew up this picture. It’s hilarious. It’s me and Jonah at the game and Jack Nicholson is sitting next to us, but he’s got this really sour, angry look on his face and Jonah’s kind of kicking me.”
Maroon 5′s latest single, “One More Night,” has been holding strong at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for five weeks, keeping PSY’s viral sensation, “Gangnam Style,” from reaching the top spot.
Adam laughed about the “rivalry” with PSY’s manager, Scooter Braun.
“I was like, ‘Listen, he seems like a really nice guy. Just tell him sorry we’re c-blocking him!’ It’s a fun song, it’s a funny song. It’s different, it’s different.”
And even Adam has fallen victim to the horse dancing craze. He joked, “That’s how I really wake up!”
All kidding aside, Maroon 5 is grateful for the recent success and Adam says it’s thanks in part to The Voice.
“The Voice has helped the band no doubt, no doubt,” he explained. “The band has never done better, never been more focused. I mean, we’re so happy with all the success. Seems like lightning is kind of striking twice.”
Maroon 5 will also be performing at our very own Red Bull Sound Space next week. AMP Radio is giving away tickets every hour and you can also enter online for a chance to attend this intimate concert!
