We don’t know how they do it, but Apple continues to lead the pack when it comes to technology.

This morning, the tech giant unveiled its iPad Mini. According to marketing chief Phil Schiller, it boasts a 7.9-inch display and weighs 0.68 pounds, which is half as much as the full-size iPad.

The iPad Mini will cost $329 for its cheapest version and you can pre-order your own starting October 26.

But let’s be honest. Sometimes, all the hype isn’t even about the product itself. Carson wants to buy a new iPod, even though he doesn’t really need it, because the new commercial is so darn catchy!

“The commercials suck you in. They really make you think, ‘What do I need? An iPod Touch, an iPhone 5, I have a MacBook Pro, of course I have an iPad, now an iPad Mini.’ That’s five devices! These Apple people have their claws in my pocket!”

So how much is all this actually costing us? Producer Angie did the math. An iPhone 5 will set you back a couple hundred dollars.

You need to have a computer, so even if you go with the MacBook Air, that’s $1000.

Let’s forgo the iPod, since you can play music on your phone. But for reading, you probably already own an iPad. That’s at least another $400.

That’s a total of $1600 and yet, we’re still chomping at the bit to buy the iPad Mini!

“Why do we watch Honey Boo Boo and spend thousands of dollars we don’t have on Apple products that we already have basically?” Carson asked aloud. “The whole success of Apple…it fires on the sensories [sic] of our ego and just wanting to have the new thing.”

Listen to what else Carson and Producer Angie had to say about Apple’s iPad Mini:
