We are rapidly reaching the conclusion of the battle rounds on The Voice and the suspense is killing us!

We have so many questions!

Will the coaches steal any more contestants? Who will advance to the knockout round? What the heck is the knockout round?

As he does every week, Carson recapped some of the highlights from yesterday’s episode.

Alexis Marceaux vs. Daniel Rosa: “Whataya You Want From Me”

This battle meant a lot to Carson because he feels a strong connection to Daniel Rosa. The Riverside resident auditioned for season 2 and didn’t make it past the blind auditions, but season 3 is an entirely different story.

“He honed his craft a little bit better and the whole staff’s in love with him because he was on season two for a hot minute and such a nice kid,” Carson said this morning.

Both Daniel and Alexis excelled vocally in their duet, but Daniel showed more emotion, which sold Cee Lo Green. He kept Daniel on Team Red Zone and surprisingly, Alexis was not stolen. Guess the coaches are getting stingy now that there are only a couple steals left!

Brandon Mahone vs. Nicole Nelson: “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”

Coach Adam Levine decided to match up Brandon, a 17-year-old who wowed the coaches with his retro style during the blind auditions, against the more experienced Nicole Nelson.

Despite the age difference, Carson called this battle “epic” and we couldn’t agree more. Brandon had the enthusiasm and youth factor, but Nicole dominated the battle with her confidence and technical ability.

In the end, Levine chose Nicole to advance to the knockout round because she met the challenges that he set out for her.

Devyn DeLoera vs. MarissaAnn: “Free Your Mind”

It was a battle of the teenage divas on Team Christina last night.

Both ladies showed off some powerhouse vocals that left the coaching panel in a split decision. Cee Lo Green was impressed that MarissaAnn had such a strong voice at her age, Adam chose Devyn because she had a few more years of experience, and Blake Shelton picked MarissaAnn because she “blew him away.”

Nevertheless, it was only Christina Aguilera’s opinion that mattered. She went with Devyn, but as MarissaAnn was saying her goodbyes, Blake pressed his button to steal her!

The battle rounds come to a close tonight at 8pm on NBC!
