Carson loves discovering up-and-coming artists and the other day, he came across one so good, he just had to share with all of us.

Macklemore is getting a lot of buzz lately for his collaboration with Ryan Lewis, “Thrift Shop.”

Carson provided a little background on the Seattle rapper:

“Been doing the music thing for more than 10 years. Got a mix tape and that sort of thing out there,” Carson explained Thursday morning. “[He] put out his first full-length studio record called The Heist a couple of weeks ago. [It] did really remarkably well, particularly here in Los Angeles.”

The Heist debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200, selling nearly 80,000 copies. Right now, Macklemore and Lewis are traveling across the United States and Canada on a sold-out tour, including a stop at Los Angeles’ Music Box on October 27.
