Another week of practice down and now that much closer to the L.A. Marathon on March 17th “St Patty’s Day!!!” As the Marathon approaches I’m debating on doing the New Year’s Race ½ Marathon on Jan. 5th. Similar to the Vegas one I just ran, you get to run through Downtown L.A. at night. I will keep you posted.
Weeks 4 practice was back at Balboa Park for a 75 Minute run. My pace group was a 4:1 (run 4 minutes & jog 1 Minute) and we ended up running about 7 miles that morning. After practice I stopped to talk with Coach Mike about some tips for this week. Those planning to train for an upcoming Full or Half Marathon check it.
1. Don’t go out to fast, slow is better.
2. Make sure to drink water or Gatorade.
3. Stretch before and after run. Stretch as much as possible & keep walking after you’re done with run.
