Umm…can you say awkward?
Anne Hathaway recently made headlines for accidentally flashing photographers while stepping out of a limo and while we’d expect to hear all about it in the tabloids, we never thought TODAY’s Matt Lauer would put in his own two cents on the subject!
The actress appeared on TODAY to promote her upcoming film Les Miserables and this is how he greeted her:
“We’ve seen a lot of you lately.”
Seriously? But since Hathaway is a total class act, she gracefully addressed the situation.
“It was obviously an unfortunate incident….I was very sad that we live in an age when someone takes a picture of another person in a vulnerable moment and, rather than delete it and do the decent thing, sells it. I’m sorry that we live in a culture that commodifies sexuality upon unwilling participants, which brings us back to Les Mis because that’s who my character is. She is someone who is forced to sell sex to benefit her child because she has nothing and there’s no social safety net. So let’s get back to Les Mis.”
AND she worked in the movie plug? That’s some serious talent!
