In our day and age of fallen heroes like Lance Armstrong or this year’s Baseball Hall of Fame, which failed to induct guys on the ballot like alleged dopers Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens, we get a breath of fresh air with the 2012 Sports Illustrated Sports Kids of the Year.
It’s a story of two brothers, Cayden and Conner, who compete together, but not in a way like anyone else.
Cayden was diagnosed with cerebral palsy when he was 14 months old and his older brother Conner didn’t let that stop him from competing.
Conner is a triathlete who has pulled and pushed his little brother behind him in their races with a raft, trailer, and wheelchair across the finish line in over 14 different triathlons.
Lebron James was moved by the courage and strength of the brothers, as you’ll see in today’s Viral Video of the Day, and you’ll also notice Jay-Z and Beyonce in attendance during this awards ceremony.
Duke basketball’s Coach K. was also there and told the boys that they have scholarships to Duke waiting for them when they get older.
