Congratulations to Jimmy Kimmel! The host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and alum of our sister station KROQ will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this Friday, January 25th, at 11:30 am in front of the El Capitan Theater. And, from what we hear, it’s open to the public.
Our very own Carson Daly, who started out his radio career as Jimmy’s intern at a small Palm Springs station, will say a few words at today’s ceremony.
Jimmy has had quite a career since he was known around these hallways as “Jimmy The Sports Guy” from The Kevin & Bean Show during the 90’s. In 1999, Jimmy and fellow KROQ alum Adam Carolla along with Daniel Kellison, under the mantle Jackhole Industries, created The Man Show, which aired on Comedy Central for six seasons (the last two seasons, however were without Kimmel and Carolla).

Jackhole Industries also created Crank Yankers, a show in which prank phone calls were recorded then recreated using puppets.

In 2003, again under Jackhole Industries, Jimmy premiered Jimmy Kimmel Live!, which is not only still airing nightly on ABC but was just moved to the coveted 11:35 pm slot up against his childhood idol, David Letterman.
