Off the treadmill and back to the outdoors, THANK YOU week 11. Over the weekend I met my team for the Dockweiler Beach 10K at the Dockweiler State Beach. It was a cool rainy Saturday morning, but every showed up ready to run. I arrived at about 7AM a good hour and a half before the race began. I wanted to be able to talk to my coaches and let them know about a foot injury I’ve been dealing with for about 2 weeks. My left foot was giving me issues, but I really wanted to finish the morning 10K. The coaches from TNT are super cool they asked a lot of questions to get to the bottom of the problem. I honestly wish I remembered the medical terms they used, but……..well I forgot. It wasn’t anything too big to worry about, but they did refer me to some physical therapists in case the discomfort continued.
The 10K started precisely at 8:30AM and I made sure to start off slow. I want to thank my teammate Jennifer for keeping up with me because I was definitely not going full speed. We did a lot of walking that morning, but it was for the best and I didn’t want to not finish the race. It took us just over an hour to get to the finish line and yes my foot did still ache. The coaches recommended I take it easy for the rest of the week and that is definitely what I have done. 5 days later my foot feels way better and I think I’m ready for the 14 miles that await me Saturday, let’s do this!
This weekend is The Color Run 5K at Dodge Stadium. From what I’ve seen online and heard around town it’s an insanely awesome colorful good time. I do want to stay on track with the team so I plan to run 11 miles Saturday morning with TNT and then meet up with Team AMP at the color run for the 2pm heat. I look forward to using my GoPro for this run. If you can, sign up! http://www.thecolorrun.com
As always thanks for donating or have even thought about donating. The link to my fundraising page is below. See you Saturday, GO TEAM!
