Just when you thought the Southern California festival couldn’t get any larger, Coachella promoters Goldenvoice have announced a series of intimate concerts featuring a wide variety of festival artists performing at intimate venues around event weekends April 12-14 and April 19-21.

Posted to the Goldenvoice Twitter account as an illustrated event calendar, this year’s concert series, dubbed “Localchella,” is rife with big-name acts playing in small venues. Trent Reznor’s How to Destroy Angels will take the stage at the Fox Theater in Pomona on April 10, which will also host Modest Mouse (April 16), the xx (April 17), and a double-bill featuring Vampire Weekend and Tanlines (April 18).

Rapper 2 Chainz will perform at the Observatory in Santa Ana (April 18), Passion Pit teams up with Tanlines to play at the Club Nokia (April 11), while Lou Reed headlines the Orpheum (April 17), which will also host Rodriguez, the subject of the 2013 Academy Award-winning documentary, Waiting for Sugar Man (April 16).

This year’s Coachella music festival will be headlined by Blur, Stone Roses, Phoenix and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
