McCabe’s TNT LA Marathon Training Journal Week 16
BAM! Week 16 of the LA Marathon training is done!!! LLS’s Team In Training has gotten us this far and we are only two weeks away from the big day, St. Patrick’s DAY!!! First off I want to thank EVERYONE that donated to my personal fundraising page and helped me raise $1,550 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training. This is my third event with TNT, first being the San Diego Marathon last June and second the Disney Half Marathon in September. By fundraising for all three events YOU helped me raise over $5,850 all going to help find cures and better treatments for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin’s disease and myeloma. FYI as a Team we have raised $113, 286 that’s huge. THANK YOU!
Now week 16 consisted of a 12 mile run through Balboa Park on Saturday. I had a little soreness in the legs, but just normal aches and pains. I also want to thank Muscle Milk for sending me some Vanilla Crème for my post run recovery.
For the next two weeks I’m told we are to take it easy and rest up for the big race. This Saturday is our final practice (sad face) that includes a brisk 8-mile run and prep for the LA Marathon (what to eat week of, race day info, uniforms etc). With that said it’s time to relax, get my ice bath ready and stretch it out for the LA Marathon.
Song of the week – Swedish House Mafia “Greyhound.” Tickets are still available to see them this Friday night at LA State Historic Park.
