Taylor Swift has been on the receiving end of some pretty rough PR lately, what with headlines about her many break-ups and throwing away fan mail.

Sometimes with all the scandalous stories floating around out there, it’s easy to miss the moments that really matter.

For example, last weekend T. Swizzle took some time out of her busy schedule to visit 10-year-old cancer patient Lauren Hacker after Hacker’s friends lobbied the pop star online.

How did they attract her attention? Their adorable re-write of Swift’s hit, “You Belong With Me,” went viral on YouTube.

“Taylor Swift stopped by Lauren’s room at the hospital around 1 pm in the afternoon,” Hacker’s dad posted on the family’s blog. “She spent about an hour chatting with Lauren … and played a song on the electronic piano key board that she got for her birthday.

“Taylor got out a bag of goodies for Lauren and provided autographs on notebooks, photographs and guitar picks,” he added. “It was a great afternoon for everyone and I’m sure Lauren will remember it for many years to come.”

Life couldn’t be any busier for the 23-year-old country cutie. Swift kicked off her North American tour Wednesday night.

Check out the girls’ video below and maybe, just maybe, cut Taylor some slack just this once, won’t ya?!
