McCabe’s TNT LA Marathon Training Journal Week 17
BOOM!!! We successfully made it through our last practice as a team on Saturday by completing 8 short miles (Yes that’s short now) at Balboa Park. Over the last 4 months the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team In Training has prepared us all for the SOLD OUT LA Marathon taking place this Sunday. For some it will be their first others it may be their 5th Marathon, but the important thing is we all challenged ourselves and made a difference by raising money to help find cures and better treatments for Leukemia & Lymphoma. I just want to give props to all my teammates, coach’s, mentors, friends and supporters that helped me out this season. THANK YOU and I look forward to running with you this weekend. For all those that donated keep an eye out for your name on my LLS Purple running Jersey. I couldn’t have done it without your support. You’ve helped our team raise over $118,000 and I know that number continues to grow, THANK YOU!
With the LA Marathon being this Sunday be sure to keep that in mind if you plan on traveling downtown, in Hollywood or near Santa Monica. There will definitely be road closures that morning. Below I attached the LA Marathon Map so you can avoid any problems Sunday. Now everyone tells me this course is one of the best so I’m looking forward to go From Dodger Stadium to Little Tokyo and the Hollywood Walk of Fame to the Santa Monica Pier and everything in between. It’s going to be a great day to run and I hope to see you on the course. Ohh.. and Happy early St. Patrick’s Day!
Now this is my 3rd Marathon with Team In Training. I’ve completed 1 full, 1 half and this will be my second full marathon. Seriously if I can do it so can YOU! GO TEAM!!!
