It’s the last week of blind auditions, which means the coaches are scrambling to find their top 12 singers for each of their teams.

Monday night’s episode turned out to be very productive because Adam Levine, Shakira, Usher, and Blake Shelton each only have one spot left to fill!

How are the teams shaping up going into the battle rounds? Carson filled us in with a full recap of The Voice’s latest blind auditions.

Carson thought Jeff Lewis was one of the “gutsier” contenders because he performed an Usher song right in front of the pop star himself.

“The kid’s got talent, plays the guitar, sings soulfully, and he’ll be good on Team Usher.”

Usher, by the way, heavily improved his team last night,” Carson added. “He got Jeff Lewis, who could go far in this competition and also Ryan Innes, who was a four-chair turner.”

Innes had the coaches fighting for his vote after his flawless rendition of John Mayer’s “Gravity.”

Adam prides himself in being the coach that convinces these people to go with him if all four push, but not so fast,” Carson said.

“The other standout last night was Sasha Allen…She has a similar story to some of the other standouts in the sense that she’s worked with some pretty big names, but then you know, she opted to have kids, now she’s back. Can she sort of rekindle the success that she had and all that kind of stuff?”

With an incredible blind audition like she had, we’d have to say the answer to Carson’s question is a resounding yes!

Shakira has been a natural favorite for all the Latino competitors and the Colombian superstar brought Mary Miranda to tears when she pressed her big red button during her blind audition.

“As I’m starting to look at the match ups, the battle rounds start next week. I’m wondering if Shakira, she’s got Cathia, who is another young, Latin singer who sang in Spanish, [who] reminded me of Mary Miranda last night and I wonder if she’ll battle them,” Carson told Producer Angie.

“You want diversify your artist portfolio, if you will, as you go to the live shows…A lot of people, if they’re big singers and they do a very similar thing, like if they’re big, big, sort of R&B belters, a lot of coaches will pit them against each other in the battles and just take their best one.”

We’ll have to wait until next week to find out the battle pairings, but don’t forget about the coaches’ steal!

“If you pit them together and they’re both really good, then you risk losing one of them,” Carson pointed out. “That’s why the steals were such a great addition.”

The blind auditions come to a close tonight at 8pm PT on NBC, so don’t miss out!
