McCabe’s San Diego Half Marathon Training Blog: Week 3
We’re getting closer and closer to the San Diego Half Marathon taking place June 2nd for 13.1 BIG miles! Booker is running with me this time around I’m confident he will make it to the finish line and I’m sure I will have to carry him to the pool afterwards, but that’s ok…what are friends for? This week along with my regular training I wanted to get some other folks into some fitness fun. We took my buddies dog Brutus up to Runyon Canyon where he got way more attention than we did and also got in some Tennis time with my coach and friend Sasha in West Hollywood.
I’m terrible at Tennis, but I’m working on it. Need to perfect that backhand. Of course after each run, tennis match or hike I like to recover with some Muscle Milk. Now if you enjoy the powder version of Muscle Milk there are some great recipes at www.musclemilk.com. One of my top picks is the Wild Berry Boost.
- 2 scoops Vanilla Muscle Milk power
- 8 raspberries
- 4 strawberries
- 15 blueberries
- 16 ounces nonfat milk
- ½ cup ice cubes
and Mix all ingredients in a blender BAM = Awesomeness.
Also I tend to talk about Runyon Canyon a lot, it really is a great workout spot plus you have a fantastic view of the city. Here’s a quick video to give you an idea.
