McCabe’s San Diego Half Marathon Training Blog: Week 4
“Who’s gonna run this town tonight” – Rihanna
That “who” being Booker and I and “this town tonight,” will be in San Diego next Sunday. Less than 2 weeks until the San Diego Rock N’ Roll Half Marathon…13.1 MILES!!!! It’s Booker’s first and at this point he’s ready to go. I mean he’s yelled at me a few times, but I’m sure I won’t have to carry him across the finish line……I think. This week to re-cap we did a few 5 mile runs and our final long 10 mile run. Remember to stretch before and after your runs and STAY HYDRATED! Next week will mostly be just minimal training maybe a Runyon hike and some 30-minute runs. Oh and I found the DODGERS Muscle Milk at Ralph’s, just FYI – sorry my photo is a little blurry I had to take it with the quickness.
Some extra exercises if you just want to switch it up. I like running near Santa Monica and Venice, then you can just rest up and chill out on the beach.
My buddy Pensky and I hit up the B-ball courts in West Hollywood for a few games. Proud to say I WON…but not bragging what so ever.
With that said it’s back to running. Remember, whether you’re running 100 meters or 100 miles, runners need protein to go the distance and win.
