We’re not sure why Nik Wallenda was determined to cross the Grand Canyon via high wire with no harness, but you have to admit, it takes some serious cojones!
The event was broadcast live on the Discovery Channel Sunday evening as his wife and children nervously watched nearby.
Wallenda spent 22 minutes walking a 1400-foot span, which took place 1500 feet above ground.
He was slowed down by strong winds, but finished the walk with a run towards the finish. Yes, HE RAN.
The stuntman spent much of the harrowing journey praying and according to TMZ, he name-checked Jesus 63 times and “the Lord” 39 times.
Wallenda is quite familiar with these high-stakes tightrope walks. Last year, he crossed Niagara Falls, which earned him a seventh Guinness world record.
Check out some highlights from his most-recent death-defying walk.
