Ohio Kidnapping Victims Release YouTube Video
Months after their harrowing escape, we’re finally hearing from the three women who were held against their will for nearly a decade in a Cleveland home.
Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, and Michelle Knight took to YouTube to thank the public for their support.
“I want to thank everyone who has helped me and my family through this entire ordeal, everyone who has been there to support us. It has been a blessing to have such an outpouring of love and kindness,” said Berry, who gave birth to a child while living in captivity.
Their alleged kidnapper, Ariel Castro, has pleaded not guilty to a 329-count indictment. His next pretrial hearing takes place July 24th.
“Thank you everyone for your love, support and donations, while help me build a brand-new life. I just want everyone to know I’m doing just fine,” Knight added. “I may have been through hell and back, but I am strong enough to walk through hell with a smile on my face and with my head held high and with my feet firmly on the ground.”
“Think about when you’re 14, you know? And then think about your life when you were 24. How much time went by there and how much development goes by?” Carson said. “That was all robbed from them while they’re living in this maniac’s house against their will. And then here they are just a couple months later, really. It’s amazing how resilient humans are. It’s incredible.”
“It was shocking how upbeat and happy [they were],” Producer Angie remarked. “Of course they’re going to be happy and they all looked really healthy and they had great attitudes.”
