The old gang is back together. That’s right, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green have returned to reclaim their spinning red chairs following Shakira and Usher’s successful stint on the singing competition.
“We had a photo shoot yesterday, which was a ton of fun,” Carson said. “Christina’s awesome and Cee Lo was great and it was just a really good group to be back.”
Last week, Carson interviewed most of the artists who will be auditioning this time around.
“I mean, not only are they talented because our litmus is high to even get on the show in the beginning, but just really good people, families. It was honestly, I mean, maybe the strongest group we’ve had all around.”
And even though season five has yet to get truly underway, Carson is already blown away by the heart of the this cycle’s crop.
“Everybody can relate to the pursuit of a dream, you know, it doesn’t matter if it happens to be singing, it’s what you overcome,” he explained. “This next group of artists, there’s a lot of those. There’s the people that you remember.”
The Voice begins airing this September on NBC.
