This past Sunday, as Justin Bieber made his way to Detroit for his show at the Joe Louis Arena, the Detroit Free Press reports that he had a little run in with the U.S. border patrol coming from Windsor, Canada. The U.S. border patrol agents found marijuana on one of the bus’ with Justin Bieber’s tour as it was headed into Detroit.
Kenneth Hammond, chief officer for U.S. Customs and Border Protection in Detroit, told the Free Press that the singer was not on the bus during the search. Hammond went on to say that during an inspection a police dog alerted authorities to the presence of drugs. Officers found and seized a small amount of marijuana along with drug paraphernalia.
The passengers and the driver were released and issued a citation. No further details are available at this time.
This isn’t the first time the U.S. border patrol has busted an artist’s tour bus on the way to Detroit. In March, a bus associated with Rihanna’s tour was searched and the authorities also found weed.
