From Carson Daly
It’s that time of year again! We love spending every waking moment at the beach, which means we should all do our part to make sure it stays clean so that everyone can enjoy it.
On the third Saturday of September, Heal The Bay hosts its annual Coastal Cleanup Day.
It’s the largest volunteer event in the state of California and it all goes down this Saturday, September 21, from 9 a.m. to noon.
In 2012 alone, people like you and me hauled away 770,000 pounds of trash and recyclables from our coastline.
There are nearly 50 sites participating this year, so get all the information you need to know, including parking information, here. Once you’ve decided where you want to help, don’t forget to sign up!
Some beaches, like Santa Monica and Dockweiler, are even offering free yoga classes to Coastal Cleanup participants.
