The Voice Precap: Carson Daly Gives Us A Sneak Peek At Tonight’s Premiere

Tonight’s the night! Season five of The Voice premieres at 8pm on NBC.

Ahem, we meant to say, season five of the EMMY AWARD-WINNING series, The Voice!

“It’s the only singing competition to ever win an Emmy,” Carson proudly told Producer Angie Monday morning.

He and the cast of the all-star coaches had a solid 24 hours to bask in the glow of their shiny gold statue, but now, it’s back to work!

“I’m not saying this because I’m on the show, but I think tonight’s two-hour show is probably the best Voice episode we’ve ever done,” Carson said.

The four original coaches, Christina Aguilera, Cee Lo Green, Adam Levine, and Blake Shelton are back for season five, which may turn out to be the most competitive one yet. Tonight’s episode features the kick-off of the blind auditions.

“The talent is insane. The singers are so good,” Carson gushed. “There’s cliffhangers, there’s great stories of what people are giving up to be here.”

And because Carson loves us so much, he played a preview of contestant Matthew Schuler, who goes down in Voice history as fastest unanimous four-chair “yes.”

“He’s really into it. You got to see the kid to believe it,” he added. “You know, it’s a package. He’s a star.”

Since Schuler had his pick of all four coaches, we were wondering, which one did he choose?

“I don’t even remember, to be honest with you,” Carson admitted. “But I know it was a dog fight. I mean, they wanted him so bad and they all fought for him.”
