‘What Does The Fox Say’ Viral Video Confuses Carson Daly
We’ve been avoiding this topic for quite some time, but we can’t ignore it any longer…
“The Fox” viral video craze has taken over America and quite frankly, Carson doesn’t get it!
The off-the-wall clip has racked up more than 120 million views since it was posted last month. Ylvis, the Norwegian comedic duo responsible for the surprise hit, has appeared on tons of major shows right here in the U.S.A., including Ellen, the TODAY show, and Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.
“I don’t get this video. I don’t think it’s funny at all,” Carson admitted. “I get the attempt of it, but it’s not Flight of the Conchords funny to me.”
“I remember putting it on and being so completely annoyed by it that I was like, ‘I don’t want anything to do with this!'” Producer Angie chimed in.
“I think ‘Gangnam Style,’ if being compared to that, I think PSY, I’ll say this with a grain of salt, but I think he’s a real artist who made a real video and they made a creative video and it was just organically fun to watch,” Carson explained. I don’t think PSY set out to make a video that was seen by over 500 million people to be a one hit wonder and just be, you know, the entertainment of the month.”
“When videos go viral, it’s by accident, isn’t it usually? Isn’t it how it should work?” Producer Angie added.
In fact, the whole “Fox” phenomenon has Carson wondering if he’s becoming a grumpy old man!
“My brother texted me last night and he was like, ‘What did the fox say?’ and I didn’t even know how to respond to it! I felt old.”
“I want to laugh with the kids! I still want to be youthful, but I don’t find “What The Fox Says” funny. I don’t care what the fox says!” he laughed.
