‘The Voice’ Recap: Let The Battle Rounds Begin!

It’s full speed ahead for The Voice season five!

The superstar coaches dove head first into the battle rounds Monday night and drama escalated to an all-time high thanks to the ever-important steal.

In case you’re a little hazy on how it all works, each coach has to pair two of their own team members to face off against each other in a duet.

They can only pick one contestant to move on to the knockout round, however, if another coach sees potential in the eliminated artist, they can use one of their two steals to add them to their own team.

Carson thinks Adam Levine has the strongest group of artists coming out of the blind auditions, which might turn out to be a disadvantage in the long run.

“He always seems to mount the best team. If there’s a four-chair turn, they all end up going with him. He’s very convincing, he’s very cute,” Carson explained. “But what he ends up doing is amassing a team with all these all-stars and then he starts to pit them against each other and he can’t keep everybody, so it’s just a great opportunity for other coaches to steal great people.”

Who survived last night’s brutal battles? Take a listen to Carson’s recap below:

The battle rounds continue tonight at 9pm PT on NBC.
