Go Purple With AMP Radio, Take A Stand Against Bullying

AMP Radio is proud to join in supporting “Spirit Day” today, to help take a stand against bullying of LGBT youth.

You can join millions of Americans who will be showing their support by wearing purple. You can also turn your Facebook and Twitter profile photos to purple by visiting glaad.org/spiritday and post photos to social media sites with the hashtag #spiritday.

Spirit Day was started by a high school student in 2010 as a way to prevent bullying and show support for LGBT youth.

Roughly eight out of 10 LGBT students experience harassment while at schools and as many as 63 percent of them report they also feel unsafe, according to GLAAD.

The event takes place annually on every third Thursday in October.

Celebrities who participated last year included: Ben Affleck, Craig Ferguson, Chelsea Handler and Sharon Osbourne.  McCabe is even showing is support all the way from Japan!
