The Voice Recap: Night 3 Of The Battle Rounds Impresses Carson Daly

With Carson’s crazy schedule, he hasn’t had much of a chance to sit down and watch this season of The Voice, but last night, he found himself in front of the TV glued to Monday’s battle rounds.

The all-star coaches brought in some major reinforcements for the occasion. Cher, Miguel, Ed Sheeran, & OneRepublic’s Ryan Tedder all sat in as guest mentors for the fierce face-offs.

The celebrity line up, however, took a backseat to the parade of crazy, awesome talent that graced The Voice battle round boxing ring.

“It’s the only singing competition, including Idol, that’s ever won an Emmy,” Carson explained. “It’s been critically-acclaimed and all that, but at the end of the day as popular as our coaches are, or as much money as we may or may not have to produce a show like this, the reason The Voice is the show that it is, is because of the level of talent they get.”

“We have found the best singers in the country and we run them through this really cool format and it’s just endlessly fun to watch,” he added.

Carson was particularly impressed with Team Christina’s Destinee Quinn and Lina Gaudenzi.

“I mean, that was a battle and a half. Team Christina had some great battles last night.”

The battle rounds come to a close tonight at 9pm PT on NBC.
