Just yesterday, we couldn’t stop smiling over the latest video to go viral. It was secret footage of a father crying tears of joy after learning his son had passed his math class.

Aria Shahrokhshahi had previously been struggling with F’s, but brought his grade up to a passing C after putting in tons of work.

As a correspondent for the TODAY show’s digital Orange Room, Carson spoke with both the son and father earlier this morning.

“I knew how he would react,’’ Aria said. “He’s a very emotional guy. I didn’t know he was going to be that loud and emotional. It was a little bit crazy.”

“Basically, Aria has always found math difficult,’’ his father Farnoosh chimed in. “To go from an F to a C is a huge jump. It’s the same as going from a C to an A-star. I was just overwhelmed, absolutely overwhelmed.”

Overwhelmed is an understatement! Carson asked how Farnoosh would react if Aria had gotten a B or A grade.

“I will have a heart attack,’’ Farnoosh joked.

The clip has already racked up more than 1.5 million views, which doesn’t shock the proud papa one bit.

“I’m overwhelmed by the generosity and the kindness of everyone who has communicated with us,’’ he gushed. “It’s absolutely wonderful, absolutely moving. I have to say that at one point I did not find it surprising at all because the vast majority of people are lovely. They appreciate love wherever they see it.’’

Aria is now studying cooking in college and hopes to travel to the United States soon to learn more about the culinary industry.
