Best known for her songwriting work with RihannaKaty Perry and Celine Dion, Sia recently came under fire for Eminem‘s Marshall Mathers LP 2. But it wasn’t for her contribution to the album, “Beautiful Pain,” but rather, Em’s song “Rap God,” which features the line, “I’ll still be able to break a motherf***in’ table over the back of a couple of faggots and crack it in half.”

As an artist who identifies as bisexual, Sia’s decision to work with the rapper has been questioned by fans. Eminem has long been called homophobic for his use of the word “faggot” — an accusation he has refuted throughout his career, most recently in an interview with Rolling Stone in which he separated the word from its sexual connotation.

“Not saying it’s wrong or it’s right, but at this point in my career – man, I say so much s*** that’s tongue-in-cheek,” he told the mag.  “I poke fun at other people, myself. But the real me sitting here right now talking to you has no issues with gay, straight, transgender, at all. I’m glad we live in a time where it’s really starting to feel like people can live their lives and express themselves.”
