They say time flies when you’re having fun, but can you believe that this time next week, Carson will be crowning the newest winner of The Voice?

The top five sang their hearts out Monday night and if the iTunes charts are any indication, it looks like it’s going to be a very close competition.

Two artists will be eliminated later tonight and even though Carson is pulling a Switzerland, he did reveal what three-artist combination he thinks would make the most interesting finale.

“I would love to have the finals have more coaches. You know, Cee Lo is out,” he explained. “I’m not pulling for any of the artists because I’m neutral. I love them all the same, I really do, but just thinking very broad here, it would be fun to have Blake have a pony in this race, if you will.”

Carson suggested earlier today that Team Blake’s Cole Vosbury, Team Christina’s Jacquie Lee, and Team Adam’s Tessanne would make a diverse and entertaining final three.

“The variance between Cole, what he looks like and what he sounds like, and Jacquie, who’s young and poppy, and Tessanne, who’s just her own thing, that makes for me, for a good two-hour finale.”

That scenario isn’t entirely impossible. Tessanne appears to be safe with a #1 song on the iTunes chart this morning.

Paul Simon’s waking up this morning with the number one song [on iTunes],” Carson said. “Which is just a cool thing for music, I think.”

Jacquie Lee, the youngest artist remaining in the competition, follows closely behind at #6 with her cover of “Angel.”

That leaves us with a tight race amongst the men. Will Champlin clocked in at #10 with “Carry On,” Cole Vosbury came in at #12 with “Shameless,” and James Wolpert’s “With Or Without You” had the lowest showing at #15.

Just one percent separated James Wolpert and Matthew Schuler last week, so we’re not kidding when we say every vote truly counts.

It’s homecoming extravaganza on The Voice tonight. Cassadee Pope, Danielle Bradbery, and Michelle Chamuel are all stopping by to perform, plus, find out which two contestants get the boot tonight at 9pm PT on NBC.
