It was a night of glamor and accolades as Hollywood’s best and brightest gathered at the Beverly Hilton Hotel Sunday evening for the Golden Globes.
He and Producer Angie recapped all of the highlights (and painfully awkward moments) bright and early on this Monday morning.
“Best joke of the night from Tina Fey and Amy Poehler came early, in my opinion,” Carson declared.
Speaking of the outer-space nominated drama Gravity, Fey quipped: “It’s the story of how George Clooney would rather float away into space and die than spend one more minute with a woman his own age.”
“I mean, that was just money in the bank,” Carson laughed. “They are so good. A+ for the hosts last night. It’s a thankless job, it’s a hard job, it’s a jaded room. They’ve done something to just transform it.”
Carson was pretty pleased with everyone who won an award last night, except for one very important category.
“My biggest gripe about last night, the thing I’m most upset about, was that Frozen beat Despicable Me 2. Frozen was the only thing I was like, ‘No way! It’s not fair!’ Jack, my kid was like, ‘That’s right, man!'”
Of course, Carson was smack dab in the middle of a fashion extravaganza on the red carpet. He couldn’t believe how incredible the pregnant Olivia Wilde looked in her form-fitting green sequin gown.
“She must’ve gone on a face diet because her face doesn’t look pregnant at all!” he joked. “Do they have that in LA? A face diet? I’m sure there’s a cleanse for that!”
“Sandra Bullock had an interesting dress on,” Producer Angie chimed in. “I don’t know that I loved her dress, but she looked really good.”
“Lupita Nyong’o from 12 Years A Slave? She looked great,” Carson added. “She was striking. When you looked at the red carpet, you were just like, ‘Woah! Who is that lady?’ She was beautiful.”
