Grammy weekend continues with our big party tomorrow (January 25) but not before we let you in on a  few more GRAMMY nominated artist interviews we had back stage.

First, we met up with Miguel, who is nominated for two GRAMMYs this year, and had a quick chat about his new album.

He told us that it picks up where Kaleidoscope Dream left off.

“Sonically, it still knocks, but it’s alternative. It’s edgy.”

And it turns out he didn’t know what categories he was nominated for! It was kind of funny when the realization hit, but he explained that he’s been so focused on his new music, that he hasn’t had time to ‘take the temperature’ of how his music has been doing on the outside.

“It’s such a blessing man. I think I’ve been consumed with creating that I haven’t had a chance to get acclimated to what’s going on. I dont even know what categories I’m nominated for [laughs]”

Being the kind guy that he is, McCabe gave him the big news.

“Let’s see here…Best R&B performance “How Many Drinks” with Kendrick Lamar and Best Rap/ Sung Collaboration for “Power Trip” with J-Cole. So congratulations on that! [laughs]”

Since Miguel has already won a GRAMMY in the past, we had to find out where it’s currently residing. The answer may surprise you.

“My Grammy is still in a box! Legit. We were just having this conversation. I want to put it in my dad’s house but my girl is like ‘you have to put it up here’ and I’m like, just put it under the coffee table or something.”

We wish Miguel the best of luck this year. Here’s hoping for GRAMMY two and three!
